Girls’ JV Soccer Corners Undefeated Season

This season the JV girls’ soccer team was undefeated in league and non-league games. The Warriors started off their season with a confidence-building 7-0 win over East Meadow.

There was a new coach this year, Ms. Flynn, who is a new English teacher here at W.H.S. The captains were Katelyn Tucker, Danielle Carson, and Marykate Delgais. The first time around, the JV girls’ soccer team tied both Garden City (0-0) and Manhasset (1-1). The second time, Wantagh defeated both teams by the same score of 1-0.

Wantagh defeated Bethpage in a non-league game with a final score of 3-0. The goals were scored by Ally Vaccaro, Allie Alaimo, and Megan Lucey. In the same week Wantagh girls defeated both Garden City and Manhasset. Both games ended with a final score of 1-0. The Warriors defeated Southside under the lights for the second time, 3-1, October 5. All three goals were scored by Allie Alaimo. To end their season off they played beat Lynbrook 4-0, October 14.

Coach Flynn was very impressed by the soccer season and says, “We had a really impressive season. We beat good teams. We had a team of talented and hard working player and this is why we were so successful this seaon.”
