Why Valentine’s Day Is Overrated

Morgan Berman, Reporter

Valentine’s Day has been celebrated every year on February 14 since the year 496. Through the years, Valentine’s Day has become an overrated holiday for many people. People spend hundreds of dollars on materialistic things for their loved ones. There are plenty of other days in the year that you can show the people you care for how much you love them.

Also, why make people who don’t get to celebrate Valentine’s Day feel terrible and lonely to the point where they want to sit home and binge watch Netflix?

There is nothing to be ashamed of to be single on Valentine’s Day because there are plenty of other activities to do on this day other than trying to please your spouse. Instead, sit back, relax, and eat chocolate!
