The seventh movie of the Star War phenomenon, ”Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” hit theaters on December 18, 2015. The film starts exactly thirty years from the conclusion of “Return of the Jedi” while thirty-two years have passed since “Return of the Jedi” has been in theaters. The film was directed by J.J. Abrams.

“History is to repeat itself (in new “Star Wars” film adaptation,)” says Abrams. Some of the original actors from the trilogy such as, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill are to return to revive their roles, as Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker. Also, actor, Kenny Baker behind the robot, R2-D2 is to portray his role,and Peter Mayhew who played the role of Chewbacca is returning to revive the role.

However, the original actor who portrayed C-3PO didn’t return. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has some actors portraying new characters that “Star Wars” fans will be introduced to in the film. One of them is rumored to be the child of Han Solo. Some actors that are new to the franchise include, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita N’yongo, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Greg Grunberg, Billie Lourd, Simon Pegg and introducing, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley.

This film is breaking box office records. The most-recent record-breaking movie at the box office was” Avatar” in 2009 with over $2 billion dollars. We won’t know until the Star Wars movie is out of theaters.
During the midnight showing of the film on December 17, 2015 it made $14.1 million. Now it is on its way to $2 billion and has beat records of movies in the past and will continue to.

This new film delivers an exciting new plot for Star Wars fans to really get into. Although, I may be a modest fan of the “Star Wars” franchise, I’ve seen it twice and this film is very entertaining. The special effects are great just like in the last films. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is enjoyable for all ages. It is filled with action with famous lightsabers and spacecraft. It is a good storyline and is simple for the viewers to follow. Due to the first film’s success two more sequels are to follow in 2017 and 2019 sure to entertain generations to come.
