Disney Remakes Make More Money

Amanda Amato, Reporter

To all the Disney fans around the world, we know that for a few years now, it has been making live action movies based on their classics such as, “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” and the “Lion King,” Many fans, including me, are happy but curious why Disney has worked on projects like these instead of more original ideas. And that reason is….. The company makes a lot more money remaking them.

Think about it. This decade has been filled with remakes ever since they put out Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” in 2010. This movie made over $300 billion becoming the 2nd highest grossing movie that year. So, if that movie earned so much money, imagine how much Disney would make from other classic remakes. Now we know that until Disney stops making money from these types of movies, the company will keep remaking them.

So if you enjoy watching these remakes, which I’m sure almost everyone does, then you better cross your fingers for the upcoming remake “Lady and the Tramp” to get good reviews and generate enough income to continue adding to the collection of remade movies. And if you don’t know, this movie comes out this fall and now we know that it may be one of the last remakes Disney will ever put out in awhile.
