Shameless is set on the south side of Chicago and follows six siblings trying to make ends meet. Their non-medicated bipolar mother left them and their father is a drunk who offers no support, financially or otherwise. Older sister Fiona struggles to keep the family together with the help of their loyal neighbors. The show touches on many serious topics, such as mental illness, alcoholism, poverty, and addiction, while maintaining its comedy title with humor. Shameless finds a way to be heartwarming and consistently entertaining. 5/5 stars.
