Taylor Swift is breaking records once again with her legendary “Eras Tour.” Swift’s revolutionary world tour has been making news since the first stop in Glendale, Arizona back in March. “The Eras Tour” is the second highest grossing tour in all of music history, and it has only been going since earlier this year. The tour is behind only Elton John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” which spanned over five years and earned the title of highest grossing tour of all time.
On October 13th, just two weeks before Swift’s next “Taylor’s Version” rerecord of the 2014 album 1989 and 27 days before she returns to the “Eras Tour” stage in Buenos Aires, The Eras Tour Concert Film arrived in theaters. The Eras Tour Concert Film, an immersive concert experience, is already breaking box office records. The Eras Tour Concert Film grossed $128 million globally and $96 million domestically in its opening weekend and broke the box office record for concert films, overtaking Michael Jackson’s 2009 film, This Is It. Eight films set to come out the same week as The Eras Tour Concert Film pushed back their release dates so as to not compete with Swift, a competition they were sure they would lose.
The Eras Tour Concert Film is in theaters until December 31st and “The Eras Tour” has international and US dates through November, 2024.
