ABC announced its lead for Bachelor season 24, and fans aren’t happy about it. Peter Weber, a Delta pilot, placed as the second runner-up in Hannah Brown’s season. He’s been awarded a second chance to find love on TV beginning in January 2020.

He was a fan-favorite on the show, and has been rumored as a frontrunner to become the next “Bachelor” ever since Brown shockingly sent him home at the end of her season. Although he was a fan-favorite, many were hoping for Weber’s fellow “Bachelorette” contestant Mike Johnson to be named the first African-American “Bachelor.” There has been not one black “Bachelor” and only one “Bachelorette” of color in 2002.

On Brown’s season, Mike seemed a perfect fit for the “Bachelor” title. Chris Harrison, the host, recently told People that Johnson had a strong shot at the “Bachelor” title which is why fans were extremely let down. Other fans believe that Johnson was not chosen because of his few rumored dates with bachelor superfan and singer Demi Lovato. There’s always next season though, right?
