Spirit Week Returns

Emma Grasso, Entertainment

Spirit Week is a student body favorite week in the school year. Last year, we missed out on one of our favorite weeks, which usually leads up to one of the best Saturdays of the year, Homecoming.

This year, Spirit Week took place after a three-day weekend. On Tuesday, we kicked off our spirit filled days with a Pajama Day. Students and staff roamed the halls in slippers, sleep eye masks, crazy colored and patterned pajamas.

Wednesday, people had followed the idea of “everything but a backpack.” As our staff was quite nervous about what students might come up with, we all came up with safe and unique things to carry around. People put notebooks, pens, and pencils in crazy different things. People creatively thought to bring in coolers, baby strollers, traffic cones, and so much more.

Thursday we did a spin of the most magical place: Disney day. Teachers and students alike dressed up in full Disney costumes, Disney shirts, Mickey and Minnie ears.

To end the week, we had our pre-homecoming Pep Rally to recognize all of our student athletes and coaches as well. Black and Gold day. The whole school was decked out proudly in their Wantagh Warrior wear. It was an amazing week and it was missed so much within our Wantagh community.
