Wantagh Parkway Footbridge Vandalized

Lindsey Cohen, Associate Editor

Three swastikas and the word “Gfam” were spray painted on the footbridge spanning the Wantagh Parkway from Beltagh Avenue September 8, according to detectives.

On the far side of the bridge the phrase, “We are united, We are legion, We do not forgive, We do not forget” was spray painted in black (wantagh.patch.com). The worrisome wall writings have been painted over.

“I can’t believe that something like this happened in Wantagh, was it a joke or do people really hate Jews that much?” says Shannan O’Neil, junior at Wantagh High School.

Police have searches for the “worst of the worst” graffiti “artists”…and to think that our hometown of Wantagh has just experienced awful defacement of our property.

The Nassau County Police are asking for help to track down the person or people who begrimed the footbridge over the Wantagh Parkway with swastikas and other shameful graffiti.
