This year Wantagh High School welcomes Ms. Lavoratore into the math department. She teaches advanced algebra, skills, resource room, and conceptual math. Wantagh is thrilled to have her as much as she is to be teaching here. Coming from a nearby town with a strong passion for education, she is already positively impacting the classroom. She says, “I live very close, and Wantagh has an amazing reputation.” After coming into the district, she knew that it was the right decision. The welcoming atmosphere has made the transition seamless. “The reputation is upholding itself, and all of my students are great,” she says. “I went to LIU, and I had a good experience, but it was during Covid so it wasn’t super traditional.” Like many educators and students during that period, they had to go through the challenge of being remote and adapting to those changes. Before joining Wantagh, Ms. Lavoratore said she had transferred from Seaford School District. Now in her second year of teaching, she is eager to build on the skills she developed and apply them in a district known for its commitment to academic excellence and community involvement. Her love for teaching and connection to the local community make her a wonderful addition to our teachers. We look forward to seeing the positive influences she has on students and in the classroom!
