This year the Wantagh Varsity cheerleading team completed its best season ever. The team became the only Wantagh cheer team to place at the Long Island cheerleading finals. The girls placed 4th out of all of Long Island teams at Suffolk County Community College, February 4. Throughout the season the team placed first at four competitions, setting another record in Wantagh cheerleading history. The team is led by Coaches Jenna Cucci and Katie Cucci, sisters who both cheered for and graduated from Wantagh High School. The team’s captains are seniors Lisa Douglas, Jess Lettini, Racheal Neroda and junior Kathleen Hill.
