Girls’ Lacrosse to Defend Nassau County Title

Nolan Foley, Reporter

The girls’ lacrosse team enters this season trying to defend the county title they won the year before. Although they will be defending this they also look to go even farther this year and want a Long Island and state title. The team is returning a lot of starters including goalie Grace Beshlian, who was a leader in net last year.

The team, like the boys, has a good portion of players already committed to NCAA schools such as:

Katlyn Cerasi: UMass
Ally Murphy: UMass
Nikki Sliwak: Marlyand
Taylor Rossi: Pace
Gabby Cesaro: Pace
Megan Gordon: Northwestern
Taylor Carson: Arizona State
Michele Smith: New Hampshire
Anna Ingrilli: Hofstra
Darcie Smith: Hofstra
Maddie Conway: Albany
Grace Beshlian: UConn
Emma Lemanski: Adelphi
Shioban Warburton: Scranton
Shannon Warburton: Scranton

With the experience the girls gained from last year’s championship run they are poised for another shot at the title. The team is full of leaders who will set the example for the underclassmen. The girls have a challenging schedule as usual but that is nothing new for them as they will face rival Garden City and Manhasset on their last two games of the season. They also play Cold Spring Harbor twice which should be two great games. “We just want to keep improving every year and let our program get to the next level” said junior and returning starter Ally Murphy. The Warriors look to do just that on their quest to a second county title.
