With the winter sports season coming to an end, girls basketball pushes their way to the playoffs. With an outstanding season record of 16-4 the girls show their mental and physical toughness. With the idea of going all the way, senior captains Brighid Smith and Casey Kissinger reveal their feelings on their season. Smith claims, “I think we have to continue to put in the work, and we are confident we can go far and get the outcome we want in the playoffs.” Kissinger also exerts similar ideas when she says, “I am so proud of how everyone stepped up after last season and put in effort everyday, practice or game. Now we need to keep up the intensity and confidence as we will be seeing a lot of tough teams in the playoffs.” With these captains pushing these ideas in harmony it proves their phenomenal leadership, and the team definitely has the record to prove it.

This team’s determination and high hopes have helped them push through the toughest battles on the court, and make it their season. As we send this team off to playoffs we wish them the best of luck at representing Wantagh at what they do best. Go Lady Warriors!

Edit as of 03/05/2024: in an unfortunate upset, the Wantagh Girls Varsity Basketball team lost in the county finals to Cold Spring Harbor. Wantagh High School and the entire Wantagh community are extremely proud of the team for another deep playoff run.
