The girls lacrosse team has been doing great in their season so far with an overall record of 10-4. The captains this season are Nyla Lester, Brighid Smith, Sienna Diglio, and Paige Martin. The head coach is Lauren Ruppert and assistant coach is Machenzie Maloney.

This season saw the team advancing to the quarter finals when the girls beat Cold Spring Harbour on their senior day winning 9-6. This got them into the playoffs where they then beat Lynbrook in quarterfinals. After another successful win, they advanced to the semis where they beat Southside. This has moved them into counties where they are still playing in hopes of advancing to the Long Island Championship.

The girls lacrosse team also has a number of seniors pursuing lacrosse in college. Nyla Lester will be playing at Pace University, Brighid Smith at Wagner, Paige Martin at Scranton University, and Sienna Diglio at University of Massachusetts. Lester adds, “We’re really emphasizing working as a team and being able to rely on and trust one another at every point in the game”. This is reflected in their slogan for this year “Why not us”. It shows how as a team they are left unnoticed and not expected to persist through each and every game. They have undoubtedly proved those who gave them no credit wrong.
