The Wantagh baseball team ended the regular season with a record of 20-4-1. They were conference champions and unfortunately exited the postseason in the county finals. The team is led by seniors Paul Fontana, Jack Tate, Alex Bonnano, Nick Diaz, Jason Sarosy, Louis Deluca, Brandon Nissenoff, Giuseppe D’amato, Will Windisch, Shane Russo, Justin Termine, and AJ Bardi. They are coached by Keith Sachs and Mike Ninnovagi.

Earlier in the season the team took a huge game from Farmingdale winning 5-4. Senior Jack Tate described team chemistry this season. “This year’s team is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. We are so close, we hang out any chance we get and that makes us better on the field.” Tate also shared, “We hope to make a deep playoff run this year. We have all the tools to do so we just need to put it all together. Our biggest goal is to win a county championship.” Tate also shared that he sees an improvement from last season. “Our team has improved a ton since last season, we were much more committed in the offseason and everyone is all in to win.” He also noted a few standout players on the team. Paul Fontana, Jack Tate, Tommy Wunderlich, and AJ Bardi. They also have a few players who will continue their careers at the collegiate level. Paul Fontana (Queens) Jack Tate (Adelphi) AJ Bardi (Maine). The team also has one underclassmen Ryan Tullo who has been a huge part of team success this season at third base.

The team saw triumphs this year which continued into the postseason and will surely follow the team and graduating seniors in their athletic and academic futures.
