This year our Girls Varsity Volleyball team is having a great season with a new mindset. Teamwork. As the girls work hard to push through a competitive conference, the team has ended their regular season with an impressive 13 -2 record. With a recent win in the quarter finals against Plainedge High School the team is beginning their journey to states. The girls end their last home game of the season with a 3-0 set sweep.
On the road to states the girls could not be more excited. With the lead of the team’s two senior captains, Sadie Reich and Juliette Azzariti, the girls are ready. Sadie Reich says, “I’m super excited to be on this playoff journey with this group of girls. This team is really special and has so much talent that I know can bring us really far. We have worked so hard everyday to get where we are and I believe we can do really amazing and special things during the playoffs”. Juliette follows up by stating, “our postseason journey has been super exciting so far. It’s been great to see how the team has changed and grown over these last two months. I can’t wait to see how far we go in this postseason!” On November 7th, 2024 the girls defeated Mineola High School in a 3-0 set sweep. This now paves the way for them to fight against South Side in the County Championship on November 11th, 2024.
By the looks of it these girls are going to be crushing the competition and with the support of the rest of Wantagh, it is clearly possible. Good luck ladies!!!
