The Wantagh High School Chess Club will be holding a tournament for high school and middle school students. The stakes will be high as yes, you guessed it, we are ordering trophies. Players should start practicing now because we want to start the tournament as soon as possible the day of the event. Board members won’t be participating so that they can supervise the tournament, and assist all competitors as much as possible. All students are welcome to participate, but the tournament will also give all of the chess club members a chance to show off the skills that they have been working on all year. As the tournament progresses the competition will grow more fierce, so bring some water to combat that heat. Come join us to see if you could be Wantagh High School’s King (or Queen) of chess.
