Growing up everyone had toys that they played with, especially dolls.

With the American Doll girl a nationwide toy, it’s creators have decided to come out with a new doll. But what’s so special? This new doll isn’t the average American Girl, its makers have added a boy to the collection.

The 18-inch doll will be named Logan Everett. He’s a part of a “new series of contemporary dolls.” These dolls went on sale February 16. This doll’s character “plays drums for Tenney Grant, a girl trying to make it big in Nashville’s music scene,” According to CNN.

Julie Parks, the American Girl spokesperson, said, “a boy character has been a top request from our fans for decades. We do an enormous amount of research with girls and their parents, and the one thing we’ve heard loud and clear is a desire for more—specifically more characters and stories from today—with more experiences, more diversity, and more interests.”

Many more dolls will be coming out later in 2017. The new American Boy doll 18-inch figure sells for $115 each, or about $140 for the doll, a collection of accessories and the doll’s book.
