“Full House” debuted on September 22nd, 1987, and became an instant hit. After the series finale in 1995, the show’s popularity reached even greater heights. Re-runs of the hit show drew in audiences of much younger generations. The cancellation of the show came as a surprise and was devastating for the cast as well as fans. So now, 25 years later, what has the cast been up to?

Bob Sagat, who played Danny Tanner, hosted “America’s Funniest Home Videos” partially while filming “Full House” and for two years after. He’s been hosting on and off and in 2001, starred in the TV sitcom “Raising Dad.”

John Stamos, who played Jesse Katsopolis, has stayed on the TV screen, scoring guest starring roles on popular shows such as “Friends” and “Glee.” He’s also spent some time on Broadway, singing and acting in shows such as “Cabaret,” “Nine,” and “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying,” “Bye Bye Birdie” and “Hairspray.” He has continued performing with the Beach Boys and made an appearance on their 50th anniversary tour. He is currently in Gore Vidal’s “The Best Man” on Broadway.

Dave Coulier, who played Joey Gladstone, hosted “America’s Funniest People” for four years. He joined the cast of “Skating with the Celebrities,” but was eliminated in week 4. He still does stand up comedy.

Candace Cameron-Bure, who played DJ Tanner, has had some guest starring roles in TV shows such as “Cybill” and “Boy Meets World.” After marrying and having her first child with Valeri Bure, who was introduced to her from co-star Dave Coulier, she took a break from Hollywood. She returned to TV after having two more kids, guest starring in “That’s So Raven” and “Make it or Break it.”

Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner, went off to high school, and then to college after her “Full House” days. The cancellation of the show was hard for her, and she turned to drugs and alcohol. She is now clean and happily married with two daughters. She wrote a book titled “UnSweetined” and appeared in a few independent films.

Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen, who played Michelle Tanner, starred in their own show “The Adventures of Mary Kate and Ashley,” produced by their company, Dualstar. They’ve had other sitcoms, such as “Two of a Kind” and “So Little Time,” and had an animated show about themselves “Mary-Kate and Ashley in Action!” Mary Kate struggled with anorexia for a while. Both sisters took a break from acting to pursue their fashion careers. They’ve come out with dolls and a clothing line; pretty much any merchandise one can imagine.

Lori Loughlin, who played Rebecca Donaldson-Katsopolis, got the lead role in “Hudson Street” just months after “Full House’s” cancellation. When that show ended, she scored guest starring roles in “Suddenly Susan,” “Spin City” and “Seinfeld.” In 2004, she co-created, produced, and starred in “Summerland.” She had a role in the first 3 season’s of “Beverly Hills 90210’s” spinoff, and is heading back for the 5th season.

Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler, retired from acting after “Full House” ended and went to college as an English major. She received her MA in Women’s Studies. She married Jeremy Rytky and together, they had two kids. She came out of retirement for a “Funny or Die” video with co-star Dave Coulier.
