Forget about laptops and textbooks, from March 4th through 8th, Wantagh High School was 40 miles of pure imagination. This year, Wantagh’s music, art, and theatre students took a magical trip to Florida’s Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. Between participating in educational workshops, performing for live audiences, and exploring everything the theme parks had to offer, students made memories that will last long after the trip ended. Many students would agree that this year’s Disney trip was an unforgettable success!
While there were plenty of exciting rides and attractions throughout the week, one attraction clearly stood out among the rest. According to results from an anonymous survey, Universal’s VelociCoaster was overall a fan favorite! However, for many students, the part of the trip wasn’t just the rides, but the opportunity to spend quality time with friends outside of school, making new memories throughout the week.
This trip also provided students with unique opportunities connected to their artistic passions. Students involved in band, chorus, and orchestra received the incredible chance to perform in Disney Springs, giving them the experience of sharing their talents in a professional and exciting environment. In addition to performances, students participated in interactive workshops that allowed them to learn more about music, performance, and creativity in ways that go beyond the classroom. Art, dance, music, and theatre alike were all able to take something meaningful away from their experiences.
Whether chasing adrenaline on the VelociCoaster, competing with friends on Men In Black: Alien Attack, or simply enjoying time together throughout the parks, it is clear that this trip was a huge success for everyone involved! A special thanks goes out to all the teachers, chaperones, and organizers who helped make this experience possible. Their hard work and dedication created an unforgettable week filled with memories Wantagh students will carry with them for years to come.
