All of those Practices Made for a Perfect Field Show This Fall

Hannah Popadin-Lesniak, Reporter

The 2019 Field Show is one for the books. From going outside mostly every band period in September to the cologuards practices, the field show this year consisted of a group of hard working, dedicated, and talented students.

The Field Show can be seen at any home football game throughout the season. But this year, was like no other. This year’s Field Show was music from the band Earth, Wind, and Fire and included the songs: “In The Stone,” “September,” and “Let’s Groove.”

All the hard work from the marching band and colorguard led to many successful halftime shows, playoff shows, and a great performance at Newsday’s Marching Band Festival.

The drum majors this year—Katie Frazer, Sydney Gallo, and Julia DiCianni—worked incredibly hard over the summer with Mr. Aviles and Mr. Cockren to help arrange the Field Show and perfect it.

Under the direction of Ms. Ruda and Ms. Chu and with the help of dance team captains, Cristina Paier and Melissa Weber, the flag and dance routines went perfectly with the music. When put together it was great and the audience always enjoyed the performance.

As football season just came to an end, we shall only wait and see what’s in store for next year.
