Captain Ellen Charalambous and freshmen Gina Ciappina and Lauren O’Mara are All County Gymnasts who competed in State Qualifiers on February 4. Charalambous received a score of 8 on vault, Ciappina , 8.7 and O’Mara, 8.4, both on floor.
The Wantagh High School Gymnastics Team is coached by brother and sister Eileen Keener and Dan Murphy. The team is led by with Junior captains Ellen Charalambous and Genna Lerner. All of the girls have been working diligently to achieve praise-worthy results.
“This sport takes a lot of dedication and we’re so proud of this team,” says Charalambous.
