The Bowling Teams Strike Again

The Wantagh High School Bowling Teams “spared” no time of their successful season. The Girls’ Varsity Bowling Team was composed of seniors Alyson Hopkins and Alexandria Puma, freshman Natalie Bloniarz, and eighth grader Alyssa Augello. The Girls’ Junior Varsity Bowling Team included seniors Jennifer Graham, Alyssa Marro, Danielle Roth, Ryley Weber, and junior Stefanie Wenz. Team Manager was senior Corey Carson and the Coach was Mr. Reh.

The Varsity Team concluded their season at the County Championship on Thursday, February 7th. The team made it to the second round of competition, finishing in 10th place. Freshman Natalie Bloniarz and eighth grader Alyssa Augello will be representing Wantagh at the county championship individually, both with averages of 160. “I’m very proud of the season we’ve had,” said senior Alyson Hopkins. “Our younger members of the team are so talented. They have great potential and can only go up from here. Also, our more elder team members really ended their high school bowling careers on high notes.”

The Boys’ Varsity Bowling Team was comprised of seniors Brendan Langenfeld, Nick DaSilva, Luke Pacchiana, Christopher Ingrisani, and Christopher Chowske, and freshman Dominic Romano. The Junior Varsity Team included seniors Dan Weber, Mike King, and Jimmy McHugh, junior Michael Augello, and freshman Nick Pierce. Team Manager was freshman Brendan VonRunnen and the Coach was Mr. Polo. Senior Brendan Langenfeld will be representing Wantagh at the county championship individually with an average of 202. Langenfeld noted that “I had a great time throughout the whole season and I will always remember this team.”
