The Wantagh Girls Soccer team had a slow start against East Meadow in its opener September 3 with a 1-0 loss. The Warriors played a tough game and fought until the final horn.

Since that loss the girls have worked even harder and pushed themselves. The Warriors kicked Benjamin N. Cordozo all over the field in a 5-0 win. Ashley Gendels led the team with 2 goals while Caitlin Albanese, Chelsea Kingston and Julianna Kissane all scored goals.

The girls started a game against Manhasset but rain forced them to replay the game, which ended in a 3-3 tie. Scoring for Wantagh were Gabby Paccione, Gendels and Albanese.

The very next day the Warriors lost a tough game against Garden City 1-0. The girls played Manhasset for the 3rd time and came away with a crucial 4-2 win. Gendels had 2 goals, Albanese and Julia Fazio each had one goal. The team’s record now stands at 2-2-1.
